The Fremantle Festival is Australia's longest running festival celebrating visual and performing arts through a range of community events. With activities happening across Fremantle at 35 venues there's something for everyone. If you can't decide what's for you you can head down to town square where the 2015 festival is firmly centred.
The fantastic Fremantle Festival is an annual event on the calendars of all fun loving West Australians. It offers something for everyone and Flametree Creative was proud to be asked once again to undertake the branding and the design work for all the communication media, including digital, posters & other mediums.
The 2015 Festival focuses back on the heart of Fremantle with King's Square and the Town Hall being centre stage for many events. This direction was featured in the branding of the festival and the final design chosen depicted a colourful, lively logotype revealed by pulling back a white/grey curtain. This was all designed to reflect as graffiti on a brick wall with a stencilled character pulling back the curtain to reveal the spectacle behind. The style links back to the colourful nature of the city centre in a positive way encouraging viewer to seek out & engage with what's on behind the scenes.
The Festival's vibrancy and alternative style is reflected in all our communication.
The branding carried through to invitations, posters, digital ads, website headers, flyers, billboards, magazine ads and the program.
All of these projects were successfully undertaken by our team as they were all required to be worked on simultaneously . All deadlines were met as well as the early delivery of the printed programs.
The festival also encompassed three other festivals which come under the Fremantle Festival umbrella. These are the Norfolk Lanes Festival - Youth focused, the Wardanji festival - celebrating Aboriginal culture and Children's Fiesta - for a day dedicated to kids.
We had a lot of fun creating appropriately different looks for these events all of which spoke to very different audiences.
It's a great fusion of art, culture & design, there's something for everyone.
