Last year local cottage distillers Billy Stitch asked us to help them develop their brand and apply it to their bottle packaging. At the time they were husband and wife team operating a home distillery selling products in make-shift bottles at local markets. The ultimate goal was to grow the brand through increased recognition, distribution and commercial sales.

The Brief

Since then we have worked hard to establish the band and apply it across multiple communications channels - none more important than the product packaging. The presentation of the bottles being the primary point of interaction of the brand with its customers.

The first range of 6 gins are festive, fun and fruity. Our designers set to work to show this through a range of quirky illustrations featuring elements derived from each flavour and applying them to inward facing rear labels to be seen by looking through the glass. The labels wrap around the edges of the bottle almost creating a prismatic effect. With the brand prominently positioned on the font label, an arresting 3D effect is achieved. Each gin is themed and this is reflected in its unique illustration and colouring.

Flametree arranged production of the new label sets and shortly after, the Billy Stichers packed their samples and took off to San Francisco for the world spirits competition. They had a great time and came back having won silver, gold and even an impressive 2 double gold awards. This has really put Billy Stitch on the world gin map.

As the brand grows Flametree has been busy, building their new website, designing point of sale, merchandise and developing new product ranges, sizes and promotions. In a very short time Billy Stitch is well on its way to achieving its brand goals.
