Each year Australia celebrates National Reconciliation Week. The week-long celebration builds on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians. This year, the theme for National Reconciliation Week is "Don't Keep History a Mystery".

The Brief

We were asked to design banners and final artwork for a huge out-of-door campaign to mark the event.

Flametree Creative completed this task in 2016 and were delighted when we were asked to do so again after the job went elsewhere in 2017.

The design was created using the original artwork of Katie Ward, which had to be adapted to incorporate the event branding, different local government logos and a myriad of sponsors' logos.

The most challenging part of this job was the logistics of compiling artworks for 380 different sites of varying sizes, each with differing content.

Our Hugh did an excellent job of organising all the files, liaising with the client and co-ordinating production with the printer. Not one file needed to be reworked. Our client's great organisational skills was a blessing and helped us to meet a tight deadline and have all of the installations completed in an orderly fashion.

We were very proud to see the banners flying in prominent locations all over Perth, including the Yagan Square digital tower.
